4. “A Good Year”- Ridley Scott

Ridley Scott has been nominated for four Oscars and has been renowned as a directorial genius for his work on films such as Alien, Black Hawk Down, and American Gangster. But that didn’t stop him from directing this God awful movie. A Good year is a romantic comedy starring Russell Crowe as a British investor that falls in love. The film was a definite change of pace for Ridley Scott… Looking back, maybe he stepped a little bit too far out of his comfort zone with this one.

Who would play you in a movie of your life? Russell Crowe. I was once mistaken for him and have never been so happy.

Could Russell Crowe be the worst Jekyll & Hyde of all time? One of the earliest indications of The Mummy‘s Dark Universe designs was the casting of Russell Crowe opposite Tom Cruise as Dr. Henry Jekyll. This was, at first, exciting; it promised that the reboot of a franchise that was last in cinemas less than ten years ago would be making some efforts to expand its scope and, obviously and most prominently, it meant we’d be seeing the iconic dual personality scientist brought to life by a major screen presence.

Personally, I enjoyed The Mummy and I enjoyed Russell as Jekyll & Hyde….but we can’t like all the same things, right? 😉

5. Russell Crowe

Not only will Russell Crowe provide an eerie resemblance to Bannon, but he has the ability to provide the edge to the character in a way that not many actors can. He has the ability to provide an appearance of the character that will be unyielding in its presentation of what Bannon represents at the core. The coldness and the calculative nature of Bannon will be drawn out by Crowe — delivering a chilling presentation of the role.

EXCLUSIVE: Multiple distributors are bidding for Boy Erased, a provocative drama Joel Edgerton has scripted and will direct based on the memoir by Garrard Conley. Edgerton will star with Manchester By The Sea‘s Lucas Hedges, and Edgerton is courting Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman for supporting roles, I’m told. Edgerton is producing with Anonymous Content’s Kerry Roberts and Steve Golin. Tony Lipp, Kim Hodgert Rebecca Yeldham and Ann Ruark are the exec producers. Annapurna, Netflix, Amazon, Focus are the names I’m hearing for potential landing places. The film will start production in the fall.

Hedges, who broke out in the Oscar-nominated Manchester By The Sea, will play the protagonist, and Edgerton will play the man who runs the therapy program. Edgerton, Crowe and Kidman have long talked about doing a film together, and he wants them to play Conley’s parents. Stay tuned.

We loved how Crowe’s Detective Richie Roberts takes on drug kingpin Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) in ‘American Gangster’

Russell Crowe has revealed the most dangerous stunt he’s ever done saying it was “probably one of the stupidest things I ever did”.

Speaking to Aussie radio hosts Chrissie, Sam and Browny from Nova, the Kiwi actor revealed his role on Proof of Life nearly killed him.

“Right at the beginning of the film there’s a sequence where I run up to this helicopter and I jump onto it and it takes off, so I actually did that,” he said.
